Day 1: Gondar

  • Fly to Gondar, Ethiopia’s former imperial capital.
  • Visit the Royal Enclosure, Emperor Fasilidas’ Bath, and the church of Gebre Birhan Selassie.

Day 2: Debark and Sankabar Camp

  • Drive to Debark, the gateway to the Simien Mountains.
  • Begin a short acclimatization trek along the escarpment with stunning views.

Day 3: Trek to Geech Camp

  • Trek to Geech Camp, crossing terraced farmlands and the spectacular Geech Abyss with its cascading Djinnbarr Waterfall.

Day 4: Summit of Imet Gogo (Optional)

  • Take a circuit walk with an optional ascent of Imet Gogo (3,926m) for panoramic views of the Simien range.
  • Explore other viewpoints such as Saha and Set Derek before returning to Geech Camp.

Day 5: Trek to Chenek

  • Trek through open grasslands and fields of giant Lobelia to Chenek Camp.
  • Spot Walia Ibex, Gelada Baboons, and Lammergeyers in their natural habitat.

Day 6: Return to Gondar

  • Enjoy a short morning walk before driving back to Gondar for relaxation and sightseeing.

Day 7: Addis Ababa

  • Fly to Addis Ababa.
  • Visit the National Archaeological Museum (home to “Lucy”) and the bustling Mercato market.
  • Celebrate with a farewell dinner before your international flight.
