Day 1: Semera
- Arrive in Semera, the capital of the Afar region.
- Complete paperwork and secure necessary permits for entering the Danakil region.
Day 2: Lake Afrera
- Drive to the turquoise Lake Afrera, surrounded by palm trees.
- Explore traditional salt harvesting and visit Frachetti Island, the world’s lowest-lying island (-112 meters).
Day 3: Erta Ale Volcano
- Drive to Erta Ale, also known as the “Smoking Mountain.”
- Begin the evening trek to the summit to view the spectacular lava lake.
- Descend in the early morning hours to escape the searing daytime heat.
Day 4: Hamadella
- Visit the salty Lake Asale for stunning views.
- Explore the colorful Dallol hot springs, known for their surreal mineral formations and vibrant hues.
- Drive to Semera for the night.
Day 5: Addis Ababa
- Fly back to Addis Ababa.
- Relax or explore the city before your international departure.
